Private residences

Most of them are located close to the city centre and the university.
Regulations change according to each residence. The rent is flexible depending on the stay. Arrival dates and departure dates mentioned on the form cannot be changed. You have to read the contract carefully before signing. Deposit cannot be used to pay the last rents under any circumstances. If you leave at the beginning of the month that month rent is due.

To set your budget, take into account other expenditure such as:
-rent payment conditions (monthly, quarterly according to the residences)
-if charges (water, electricity…) are included or not
-if local tax needs to be paid (to be paid for any accomodation occupied on January 1st of the current year)
-commute (30 Euros subscription for public transport)

In every residence a comprehensive insurance home policy is required.

You can choose among:

• a single studio for one person, surface ranging from 18 to 25M2
• A duplex for one or two persons, surface ranging from 25 to 50M2
• A two-roomed room apartment for one or two persons, surface ranging from 25 to 50M2

If you prefer a duplex for one person or a two-roomed apartment for two persons, you could give the name of your flat mate or mention your preference regarding your future flat mate (nationality, smoking, non-smoking…).

Your respective email address would be informed so as to communicate before your arrival in Lyon. This option would help to reduce the rent cost considerably and improve your French as you will be lodged with another international student preferably from a different nationality. You cannot be lodged with a French Student.

One room apartments are spacious in most cases.
